The Flagstaff Eagles tied their shoes up in their home court gym to contest the Deer Valley Skyhawks for an out of league match up. Traveling from Glendale, the Skyhawks have their work cut out for them facing the Eagles who are conditioned to play at 7000 feet in Flagstaff.

As the game starts off, it seems that the teams are very evenly matched. The first set showcases some of the teams best assets as they are off to a quick start. A close score keeps the fans entertained as they battle to see who can reach 25 points first. The Skyhawks begin to pull away from the Eagles as the first set comes to an end with the score of 25-20.

Embarrassed in front of their home crowd, the Eagles refuse to let the Skyhawk take a two set advantage. Flagstaff is off to a quick start in their efforts to come back from the 1-0 deficit. Holding a lead for the majority of the set the Eagles play to their expectations winning 25-16.

With the 1-1 nail biter the games comes to an important momentum changer in the third set. Running off the steam from the second set, the Eagles show no sign of slowing down. They continue to dominate offensively showing their physical condition. The third set ends 25-15.

The Skyhawks have a challenge in front of them in their efforts to beat the Eagles with a 2-1 advantage at the start of the fourth set. Win or go home. As the first ball is set, it becomes clear that the Eagles showed up to play. They continue their aggressive offense and hold down the court with defense only allowing the Skyhawks to score 15 points once again to their 25. The Eagles send the Skyhawks back down to the valley with a dominant 3-1 win.

The Eagles move forward with their season improving their record to 16-2 as they look to the Monument Valley Mustangs for their next match up. The Mustangs only have a 7-6 record; however they are just coming off a 3-0 so they will be carrying momentum.
