I’m Catherine Rosales with KJACK News and these are your top headlines for Tuesday, March 12th.

Woman says she distracted jaguar after attack at Arizona zoo. A woman on a trip to an Arizona zoo with her son and grandchildren reacted swiftly when a jaguar attacked another visitor who had crossed a barrier to take a selfie with the wild animal. Michele Flores said she grabbed a water bottle from a stroller and put it through an enclosure, distracting the jaguar. Flores’ son Adam Wilkerson later took widely circulated video showing the injured woman on the ground with deep gashes and blood. The attack occurred Saturday at Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium and Safari Park, a privately owned facility outside Phoenix. The woman suffered deep cuts and was recovering. The zoo has said the jaguar never left its enclosure and won’t be euthanized.

Tesla plans to close most of its showrooms worldwide and announced price hikes for most of its electric vehicles. Tesla announced last month that it would shutter most of its stores to cut costs so it could sell its lower-priced Model 3 for 35 thousand dollars.  The company continues its shift to toward online-only sales, but now says it won’t close as many stores as originally expected. The company is raising prices by 3 percent on all other models. In a Monday filing with government regulators, Tesla now says it closed 10 percent of its stores, but a few of those will now remain open.  Another 20 percent are being evaluated and some could remain open. Remaining stores could have fewer workers but will have vehicles available for test drives and a small inventory in case people want to buy immediately.

The weather today has a 90 percent chance of snow showers with a high of 39 degrees and a lot of 29 degrees.  Tomorrow there is a 70 percent chance of snow with a high of 36 degrees and a low of 16 degrees. Thursday, it will be sunny with a high of 40 degrees and a low of 18 degrees.
