Scientists at the U.S. Hurricane Center continue to monitor Tropical Storm Rosa, which is expected to make landfall in Northern Mexico and the southwestern United States today. The Storm is expected to weaken and move to the northwest, though flash flood warnings are in effect for much of Arizona, as well as parts of California, Utah, Nevada, and the Mexican state of Sonora.

Rainfall expectations for Rosa are one to two inches for most of Arizona, although the Mogollon Rim could face two to four inches.

An overnight fire this weekend destroyed a furniture business in central Phoenix. Around eighty firefighters had to work to contain a blaze which engulfed a sixty-thousand foot furniture warehouse, No fatalities or injuries were reported, but the blaze is still under investigation as of this report.

Sad News this weekend for Arizona Cardinals fans, as the Seattle Seahawks beat the Arizona team twenty to seventeen by game’s end. The Seahawks Sebastian Janikowski kicked a fifty-two yard field goal after a forty-five yard goal was missed by the Cardinal’s Phil Dawson. This marks the first time that the Cardinals have had zero wins and four losses since nineteen eighty-six.

The Cardinal’s next game will be October 7, where they will face the San Francisco Forty-Niners.

In light of Tropical Storm Rosa, please be cautious of a flash flood watch from eleven this morning until Wednesday at five in the evening, Eighty percent chance of thunderstorms today along with a ninety percent chance of rain tonight. Today’s temperature estimates are a high of sixty-three degrees, with a low of forty-eight.
