Tesla CEO plans to hand the car keys to robots next year.

Tesla CEO expects to start converting the company’s electric cars into fully self-

driving vehicles next year as part of a plan to create a network of robotic taxis

to compete against Uber and other services.

The vision sketched out Monday during an event at Tesla’s Silicon Valley

headquarters requires several leaps of faith — something that the investors and

consumers who view Musk as a technological genius often are willing to take.

But self-driving car experts fear Musk is shirking public safety in an effort

to boost Tesla’s stock and sell more of the company’s electric cars.

Americans getting more inactive, computers are partly to blame

A new study found that Americans are becoming increasingly sedentary,

spending almost a third of their waking hours sitting down, and computer use is

partly to blame.

Over almost a decade, average daily sitting time increased by roughly an hour,

to about eight hours for U.S. teens and almost 6 1/2 hours for adults, according

to the researchers.

By 2016, at least half of American kids and adults spent an hour or more of time

daily using computers.

Most Americans of all ages watched TV or videos for at least two hours.

Studies have shown that prolonged periods of sitting can increase risks for

obesity, diabetes, heart disease and some cancers.

The weather for today is sunny with a high of 71 degrees and a low of 38
