I’m Kristen Dalton with KJACK News, and these are your top headlines for Wednesday, November 14th.

Due to a wildfire that has been happening just south of Sacramento, California, the NAU Football game against Sacramento state has officially been cancelled after being postponed once before. The game was postponed from last weekend and now cancelled because of poor air quality in the area of the stadium that the teams were supposed to play in. The Lumberjacks will finish the season on Saturday, November 17th in a home game against North Dakota.

In New York, the well-known e-cigarette company, Juul, which has become very popular nationwide amongst youth and college students, has decided to halt the sales of a few select flavors in an attempt to reduce the amount of underage smokers that are purchasing their products. The flavors that are being halted include mango, fruit, creme and cucumber. These flavors will continue to be sold on the website, and only retailers who take the steps to ensure that the buyer is at least 21 years of age will have these flavors back on the shelves.

Another news release from New York is stating that there are now more cases of children becoming paralyzed after having a fever and respiratory complications. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention still cannot explain what causes this sickness. There are now about 90 cases reported in 27 states across the United States. Although this disease has not yet claimed any lives, doctors are quickly searching for answers to this mystery in hopes of finding cures and prevention methods.

And now for your weather update. Today, there is a predicted high of about 49 degrees, and a low that comes in at around 21 degrees. It will be mostly clear skies with a slight breeze coming our way. So, make sure you stay warm, and as always, keep that water bottle on hand and stay hydrated!
