The Grand Canyon’s new CEO has begun serving in her new role. Theresa McMullen will continue to foresee projects as the park celebrates its tenth anniversary. McMullen moves up from COO to replace Susan Schroeder, who plans to retire at the end of this year.

The City of Flagstaff now has a new city manager. The Arizona Daily Sun reports that after a long search the position has been awarded to Greg Clifton of Colorado. He replaces current city manager Barbara Goodrich, who has served since February 2018. Clifton will begin his position on August 26.

In Glendale, a man has been arrested in the wake of two murders. Brandon Andres Bautista Torres is alleged to have killed his girlfriend and her daughter, incidents which he claims were committed by an armed prowler. Torres remains in jail on a million dollar bond.

Sunny skies expected for today with a high near 81 degrees, we will have southwest winds at 8 to 13 miles per hour this morning, which will increase this afternoon to 15 to 20 miles per hour, though winds could reach a 29 mile per hour speed. Tonight, mostly clear skies and a low near 47 degrees, with southwest winds at 7 to 15 miles per hour, though winds could reach as high as 23 miles per hour. There is no chance of rain in the current forecast.
