I’m Matthew Kruelle with KJACK Radio News and these are your top headlines for Thursday, April 11th.

A man won over $110K, breaking single-day record on ‘Jeopardy!’ A 34-year-old professional sports gambler from Las Vegas won more than $110,000 on “Jeopardy!” on Tuesday, breaking the record for single-day cash winnings on the trivia television game show. The show says in a statement that James Holzhauer won $110,914 during the episode. The previous episode record of $77,000 was set by Roger Craig in 2010. “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek revealed in March that he was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer but said he intends to fight the disease and keep on working. 

New details have been released regarding the April 8thshooting in Flagstaff. Just after four O’clock last Monday Flagstaff PD officer Rubey identified Matthew Dearing. Dearing had prior warrants for his arrest. The officer confronted Dearing, and a fight ensued. Officer Rubey was pepper sprayed by Dearing. Officer Rubey then discharged his weapon, striking Dearing in the neck. Dearing received medical treatment on the scene and at the Flagstaff Medical Center. As of this report, Dearing is still hospitalized and in police custody. Officer Rubey has been placed on administrative leave while Northern Arizona University conducts an independent investigation into the altercation.  

On April 7thFlagstaff Police arrested a man for the burglary and theft of a church robbery earlier that night. While on the scene at the Church of the Resurrection, police identified the suspect who was holding two bibles and a cross. The suspect resisted arrest after an evaluation at the Flagstaff Medical Center. He is currently in the Coconino County Detention Centerfor Aggravated Assault, Burglary, and Theft.

For the weather today, it will be cloudy with a high of 50 degrees and a low of 26 degrees. Tomorrow 70 percent snow showers are likely with a high of 46 degrees and a low of 24 degrees. Saturday there is a 10 percent chance of snow with a high of 54 degrees and a low of 8 degrees.
